Lab integrations consist of connecting your existing lab accounts to OptiMantra which minimizes the need to navigate outside the platform to do most of your laboratory needs.
In OptiMantra, there are a couple of types of lab workflows
-
Labs that are electronically connected - order electronically and receive results directly into the OptiMantra system (covered below)
- Labs that are directly connected with OptiMantra
- Change Healthcare to connect with hundreds of other labs (used when direct connection not available)
- Rupa and Evexia for unidirectional (result-only) labs
-
Labs that are not electronically connected - print requisitions and update results manually - learn more here
- A subset of non-electronically connect labs are in-house diagnostics

To connect with Clinical Exchange, send us a ticket with your full name, credentials, NPI and Tax ID and your lab account number and the names of anyone in your clinic who may be authorized to help with ordering or processing of labs
- Note: that some labs won't connect if you aren't ordering enough from them, but you can use the custom lab format until then

Frequently asked questions:
- How long does this integration take? It depends on the lab. These are projects that need approval, and they go through several tollgates before even getting back to us. Some labs approve projects quickly and can be live within a week or two. Others may take several months. We recommend you check back with your account reps to get the status (we don't have visibility).
- Labcorp is asking for a Vendor ID. What is that? We do not have a Vendor Number with Labcorp and the Labcorp implementation team has advised us this is not something that is needed to be provided. Some EHRs have assigned numbers for clinics that are required as a part of the setup. We do not function in our relationship with them in this way.
- Quest wants the IT contact: Choose OptiMantra EHR in the dropdown when asked. The IT contact is your IT contact. If you don't have one, just put in your information.
- I was not approved. What can I do? Follow up with your account rep to see what must be done for you to get approved. Meanwhile, you can still print and email requisitions in OptiMantra and add your account in the Relevant Clinical Information(goes with the order) field on the requisition. See this video:
- What is a standard lab versus a PSC lab order? The Standard provides the current date/time for the labs. The PSC is an expected future draw time for the labs. Standard is normally recommend if unsure.
