NOTE: If you are choosing Insurance for the lab to bill (as opposed to Practice (Client), which is you, or the Patient (Out of Pocket)), you must insert the patient's insurance information in their Patient profile > Insurance tab and you also have to bring the patient address forward into the tab using the little box labeled to do that and you must have the insurance claims address listed in the patient profile too to give it to the lab, otherwise the order will be rejected. You can Google the claims address and add it to your Contact list under the Insurance (Payer) category and all will populate into the patient chart if you type the first few letters of the insurance name in the Insurance box in the patient chart and then choose the one from the Contact list.

- Save the Template
-
You can then organize one or more groups of tests into your Template
- Add the relevant tests to each group, e.g., COVID testing, RTPCR, instant test
-
Enter the test names and corresponding codes if available
- If you're pulling from an existing lab company (like Labcorp, Quest, Access) - select it from the dropdown to search specific codes associated with their labs
NOTE: If you need to create custom test codes or panels to send to your directly connected labs, you can specify that code and name and click the Add Custom Test button
*Note: A common mistake here is not adding both a Group Name and the individual tests. The "Add Custom Test" button must be clicked to actually add the test to the test list.
For a full overview on setting up most frequently used lab codes and panels, review our knowledge base article here.
*Please Note: Lab pricing is determined through agreements between the clinic and the laboratory. OptiMantra’s role is limited to providing access to lab ordering within the platform and does not include managing or verifying lab pricing. Clinics are responsible for contacting their laboratory provider directly regarding any pricing questions, discrepancies, or billing concerns.
