In OptiMantra, you can easily print out lab requisition forms to give patients or set-up your own in-house labs and diagnostics

This video below walks you through the process of setting up in-house labs, although it's the same process for any labs or imaging centers not electronically connected to OptiMantra! Read below for step-by-step instructions
Set up the Lab or your In-house Diagnostic Center as a Contact
- Navigate to Settings > Insurance > Contact List
- Add New Contact (set Contact Type as Lab)
- Ensure the lab is set up as an entity with accurate contact information

This will customize printer headers for the lab entity
Add a Template of your Tests(Set up lab templates and favorite test codes)
- Navigate to Settings > Clinical Integrations > Lab and Diagnostic templates

Create a New Template and title it
- for e.g., "In-House Testing Template" or "LabCorp Urine and Blood Testing"
- Save the Template

You can then organize one or more groups of tests into your Template
- Add the relevant tests to each group, e.g., COVID testing, RTPCR, instant test

Enter the test names and corresponding codes if available
- If you're pulling from an existing lab company (like Labcorp, Quest, Access) - select it from the dropdown to search specific codes associated with their labs
- *A template, group, and lab test must all be listed.
Create a Lab Requisition for a Patient
- Choose a patient under Patients or by searching in the Search Patients bar (e.g., demo patient)
- Click on Actions > Lab/Diagnostics

Select who the lab order is for and the type of lab > Create Lab Order
You'll be prompted to select the Lab you want to pull from > Select Custom for In-House Labs

This will pull up your lab order form where you can select the
Lab from Contacts
Payer
Any courtesy copies you want to create
Import relevant information from chart notes, if needed.
- Include a diagnosis code (use code "ODD 69" for unknown cases).
View Lab Requisitions for a Patient
- At any point, you can see historical lab orders for a patient by clicking on the historical drop-down
- From this screen, you can print labels, edit or pdf the requisition, or fax it to your contact

Record the Results

At any point, you can see historical lab orders for a patient by clicking on the historical drop-down: Actions > Historical Labs/Diagnostics

Locate the desired lab order(s) from the list

Locate the desired lab order(s) from the list
- For custom labs, you will find the option to update results > Update Results
Choose the data the results were received and record the value of the payment and you can also flag it
Save the recorded results
