In Settings > Forms > Patient Handouts, you can create and manage your handout library, and share handouts either with all patients or selectively with individual patients as needed

Managing Patient Handouts
Overview
The Patient Handouts feature allows you to upload and share reusable documents with patients. These handouts are ideal for standardized materials such as weight loss guides, general support plans, or nutrition resources that you want to distribute repeatedly.
Handouts can be used in:
Reminder E-mails
E-mail Templates
Custom E-mails
Patient Documents
Accessing Patient Handouts
- Navigate to Settings
- Select Forms
- Click on Patient Handouts
Uploading a Handout
- Click to choose a file from your device
- Upload the selected document
Note: Video files are not supported.
Managing Uploaded Handouts
Once uploaded, each handout will display the following options:
- Document Title – View or edit the name of the file
- Preview Link – Open the document for review
- Edit – Modify the title
- Delete – Remove the handout
- Access Type – Control how the handout is shared
Access Types Explained
1. All Patients
- Makes the handout automatically available to all patients
- Accessible through the patient portal
- Does not appear in individual patient document folders
2. Selective
- Allows you to assign the handout to specific patients
- Handouts must be manually added to each patient’s record
Assigning Handouts to a Patient (Selective Access)
- Go to Patients
- Open the desired patient profile
- Navigate to the Documents section
- Locate the Patient Handouts area at the bottom
- Use the dropdown menu to search for available handouts
- Select the desired document
Once selected, the handout will appear in the patient’s record.

- Where do I add patient handouts?
- Add to and manage your patient handout library under Settings > Patient Documents > Patient Handouts
- You can upload any type of image, PDF, excel, CSV or Word document to your handouts library
- Assign them to Patients under Actions > Patients Documents or make them available to everyone on the Patient Portal under Access Type > All Patients
- How do I add handouts to patients that are selectively shared?
- For Selectively Shared documents, go to the Patient document section under Patients > Actions > Documents
- Select the documents you want to share with the patient from your handout library
- Are patients automatically notified when a new handout is uploaded?
- No, patients are not automatically notified when a new handout is added
