Password Requirements
To help keep your account secure, passwords must meet the following requirements.
Password Rules
Your password must:
- Be between 8 and 16 characters long
- Contain at least:
- 1 uppercase letter
- 1 lowercase letter
- 1 number
- 1 special character
Your password must not:
- Contain spaces
- Contain your username
- Match any of your last 5 passwords
- Be considered a weak or commonly used password
Password Strength Validation
Password strength is evaluated using an industry-standard security library. There is no fixed list of passwords that are automatically rejected. Instead, passwords are assessed based on how easily they could be guessed or cracked.
For example, passwords such as:
passwordqwerty12345
are considered very weak and will not be accepted, even if they technically meet the character requirements.
Tips for Creating a Strong Password
- Use a mix of unrelated words, numbers, and symbols
- Avoid personal information such as names or birthdays
- Do not reuse passwords across multiple accounts
- Consider using a password manager to generate and store secure passwords
