Spakinect is a specialized telehealth platform designed to help medical spas and aesthetic practices maintain regulatory compliance through Good Faith Exams (GFEs). By providing on-demand access to a network of licensed, aesthetic-trained Nurse Practitioners, Spakinect ensures that every patient receives a required medical evaluation before undergoing regulated treatments like injectables, lasers, or IV therapy.
Instead of waiting for an on-site medical director or manually transferring records, your team can connect patients to a provider in seconds. Once the virtual exam is complete, the documentation and treatment approvals sync directly back into OptiMantra, ensuring your practice stays "audit-ready" while allowing your staff to focus entirely on delivering high-quality patient care.

Create your Spakinect Account and obtain your Spakinect Location ID
The first step in integration is creating a Spakinect account, which may be done at Spakinect.com. Once you have an account in good standing with Spakinect, you'll need to obtain your "Location ID" by contacting Spakinect support and letting them know you're integrating with OptiMantra. They will provide you with your Location ID (a sequence of numbers/letters) which you'll use for the next step.
Enter your Spakinect Location ID into OptiMantra
Once you have your Location ID, you are ready to connect. Go to Settings > Integrations > Spakinect, select the practitioner on whose behalf the Good Faith Exams will be scheduled, select the appropriate location, and enter the Location ID. Click the "Save" button and you should see a new row appear on the table with that practitioner's settings.
Repeat this process for each practitioner that will be using the Spakinect integration. You will see a separate entry for each practitioner in the resulting table.
Schedule a Good Faith Exam
Once your practitioners have been configured, you are ready to begin scheduling Good Faith Exams through Spakinect. You can access the appropriate screen by clicking Shortcuts from the main navigation bar, then Spakinect Good Faith Exams, as shown below.
This will take you to the Spakinect Good Faith Exam Listing screen, where you can see a table of all your existing exams and create new ones. On the right, you'll see a "Create Good Faith Exam" button with two options: At-Home Spakinect Appointment and In-Person Spakinect Appointment.
In-Office Spakinect Appointment
In-Office Spakinect Appointments should be used when the patient is already present at your office. Select a patient, the practitioner they will be seeing (from the list of practitioners you set up in the Spakinect integration settings) and the office location. From there, you can search for treatments in the "Add Treatments" box (please note that this listing does NOT refer to your configured service list, but instead to Spakinect's listing of possible treatments, so wording may vary).
Once you click "Save" a new tab will open with the Spakinect intake form.
Important: when you click "Save" and the Spakinect intake form opens in a new tab, your existing OptiMantra session will be logged out. Please ensure that any existing OptiMantra tabs are closed before handing the device to a patient.
After you ensure that all OptiMantra tabs are closed, you can then hand the device to the patient, who can complete the intake form and complete the video call with a Spakinect provider. Once this is complete, you will receive a Good Faith Evaluation as detailed in After The Visit below.
At-Home Spakinect Appointment
At-Home Spakinect Appointments should be used when the patient is not present in your office, and allows the patient to complete their Spakinect Good Faith Exam at any time prior to their scheduled appointment with you. Select a patient, the practitioner they will be seeing (from the list of practitioners you set up in the Spakinect integration settings) and the office location. If the patient has an upcoming appointment, these values will be auto-detected. Search for treatments in the "Add Treatments" box (please note that this listing does NOT refer to your configured service list, but instead to Spakinect's listing of possible treatments, so wording may vary).
Once you click "Save" an email will be sent from Spakinect to the patient's email address on file, containing a link that they can follow to complete their virtual Good Faith Exam. Once this is complete, you will receive a Good Faith Evaluation as detailed in After The Visit below.
After the Visit
After the patient completes their Good Faith Exam, the resulting Good Faith Examination will populate into the Spakinect Good Faith Exam screen as a PDF associated with the scheduled exam. These will be retained in the system so that you can refer back to them at any time.
